    Hey.

In my S4 i have some problem with my FIS unit.

Anybody that has some ideas about what it can be? I think i have to switch out the hole display, but maybe somebody know anything else i can try before?

    Re: Problem with FIS-unit

Yes this is very common problem for audi's of all sorts. There are multiple posts on this problem you have a few options.

One is to take cluster out of dash (really easy, 2 screws and slides right out after disconnecting rear connections) take cluster apart and try pressng the electrical connections tighter to board. There is write up on this and the effectiveness is very little. May improve a few pixels but more then likely not make a difference at all.

Second is replace entire cluster. You can buy new ones from various places, I think genuineaudiparts.com has the cheapest 692 bucks yes expensive. There may be other places too and will probably have to get milage reset for additional charge or just use mathamatics to know what your actual milage is.

To me the other and best way to fix this is send your cluster in to certain sites that take origional screen out, and sodder new screen in. I think they offer 1 to 3 year warranty too. This is around 250 bucks give or take a few. I'd have to search again

Here is a post about someone buying a bunch of screens to be put in:

Here's another post about what to do:

    http://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2764285.phtml

Here is a site the fixes clusters: its over sea's but I think there are sites here in US that fix them too:

So do some searches and find a place to get it fixed. thats what I would do. I would not buy a used one that claims to be perfect pixels because it probably will be a matter of time before they start fading too.

At least this is what I want to do. Mine are fading a little but not bad just yet. Well truthfully putting the money to more important things. lol But I do want to get this fixed because it drives me crazy to have them fading.
