Searched it up, can't find any answers

    Here is my story:

Bought a B7 remote and cut the key already, swapped the B6 transponder into the B7, great!! IT doesnt work!! Here is my potential solution since i love the B7 remote:

    - Buy an aftermarket alarm system (2 way with remote start)
    - Get a guy to install it (cause i suck at installing things) with a bypass module
    and bypass it
    - Start using the new LCD remote for keyless entry and starting my car with my new B7 key and my friend can help me program the B7 remote to do keyless entry for me too and pop the trunk.

**Question, will this work??, need answers ASAP cause my car is still at my company 20min away from my home**

    Re: Aftermarket Alarm ByPass

sdure it will work, only trhing will be to have the transponder bypassed to use the remote start, the aftermarket alarm will just splice into exisitng wires, so if you ever get the oem fob working it shoul work, only issue will be that the B7 fob, will not deactivate the remote start alarm, unless the installer rigs some signal wire off the alarm to deactivate the remote alarm. In any case it is not big deal, prices are from about 3000-700$ depending on brand and where it is installed. I would just get a plain key with a transponder in it (ebay) and use the remote start remote, and dump the oem fob alltogether.

    Re: Aftermarket Alarm ByPass

the thing is, i did not get the tranponder to work when i put it into the b7 key, so i need the aftermarket alarm to bypass it and get my B7 key(without any transponder) just for cranking the car up and the remote from the aftermarket alarm for keyless entry, we will worry about the remote start later, because right now my car can't even start.
