Snow/ice in your wheels will throw the balance off of them. Clear all the ice/snow out and you should be golden.

Same problem on a 300 mile drive home from college. Mine was bad after 30 mph though. Eventually the snow came off and it was ok.

yeah, I have 18" wheels on my S4 for winter (7 twin spoke stock wheels) and they LOVE to get clogged with snow. I have to really pray it melts off overnight in my garage or I'm either

    a) driving in the slow lane

    or

    b) getting a full body massage/bone rattle on the highway

    Re: Car shaking...

Just dont drive it like that too much. You can potentially damage some suspension components.

2nd this. clean out the excess snow and ice other wise you risk damaging other componets.

don't take it personally. you would be amazed at what some people ignore.

there was a guy a year or so ago on AW that drove for 2-3k miles without wheel weights on his new wheels since he didn't like the look of the stick on wheel weights. he kept wondering why his car was shaking.

    Re: Car shaking...

    what's with the rep love-in?

does anyone care about rep? Let's start a poll...

good to hear the OP got rid of his wobbles. The wobbles first happened to me about 9 years ago, and I was on the phone to my local dealer trying to book an alignment/wheel balancing instantly (total car noob at the time).

The lady in service (MB) said 'it's just snow. Park in a garage so it melts off and I bet it's fine later'. She was right. She could easily have screwed me into $200 or so for balancing and alignment check. Glad it wasn't that dealer with the rock in the sunroof!
