What Car to Buy? Opinions and Help Needed

Ok so here is my dealio. I am currently in a lease 2008 Mercedes CLK350. My lease is ending (24 month lease) I am 22 years old in college and pay for the car myself. (Don't ask about financials its not about that)
I have a few options but I need a car in the 500-600 dollar range in terms of leases.
I would like some performance or modability of course, a manual is preferred.
I would like to stay German which REALLY limits my choices. All I can think of is the BMW 335 now but its just so damn played out I'm not sure what to do.

Help!

not sure about leasing cars, but in that price range, it's really hard to fight the 335i. I'm sure the new S4 is way more dough.

Must you lease the car?

Maybe try to takeover someone's lease at swap-a-lease.com

then you can pick something up for the last year or two of their lease...allowing you to try something out without a big commitment (and likely with a good deal if they give you a few grand up front, since many people are desperate to get out of their lease right now)

Right the 335 can be had for under 500 dollars right now. Which is impossible to beat it seems. The S4 will be around 6-700 unless its the last model year (B7) which I have NO idea what the prices are like.
I am so confusedd :/

B8 A4 2.0T? Not really sure what range those are in terms of lease though but I'm sure they will be moddable.
You can't go wrong with the 335 though for real no matter how played out how many of them do you see actually tuned? Its gotta be one of the best cars for the money right now especially in terms of German Cars.

I looked into leasing a b7s4. Even though my dealer was offering the car at just over 10k off msrp, the lease still came out to 800-900 per month because the 3 year residual is somewhere around 45% with a horrible money factor. You can get the new a4, which is a great car and should be easy to mod in the near future. A fairly loaded up one should not run you more than 600.

Still 800-900 for the S4? thats ridiculous considering its the last year of the B7.....
335's can be had for pretty cheap last I looked. ALl i would want is sports package and premium anyway.
Any other suggestions? Purchasing seems out of the idea since the good financing rates are only for 36 months or something like that, and the 60months jump back up to 5%+
