Heat gun. These aren't the same housings. I bought real dirt cheap ecodes with a few minor internal problems (plastic tabs broken on turn signals; easily fixed. So, I canabalized the projectors out of my old joey modded US housings (I cut the clear housing off because I knew I wasn't using it again), and used the new housings of the ecodes for this project.
I'm not trying to toot my own horn, because it just comes with doing it a lot, but I can now get the housings part without any bend in the black lip on the top. So, in effect, when looking at the housing with the hood open when the headlight is re-installed, there doesn't appear to be any indication that they were ever separated. I used to bend the top lip and then reform it with the heat gun, but that still showed minor flaws and waves across the top. Not no 'mo.
And these housings will be sealed with.... yep... Plumber's Putty. Because I will need to get them back apart to change LED's if they ever burn out. I've formed a couple tiny clamps out of metal that will hold the housing halves together. They will be placed along the side and bottom so they can't be seen. And the plumber's putty will seal more than adequately.
