just wanted to see if anyone else was greatly disappointed in the auto show.. i just got back and i have to say if your planning on going.. dont... no audi... no porsche... no jag... no maserati... no tesla.... what shit. i just wasted 9 dollars...

Considering we didn't get tickets this year at the dealer, I figured we didn't have any cars there this year. I only went because they gave us free tickets, otherwise it isn't worth it.

the bmw spot didn't even have an M3. wtf?
don't forget...no mercedes.
the 'exotic' room had like 7 cars..and one of them was a lotus, not that lotus is bad...but exotic at $60k...not.

Yeah, there was an article in the San Jose Mercury News a couple weeks ago naming some of the companies that bowed out of the show this year. I think it was a way for them to save money with the current state of the economy. Otherwise, I would have wanted to go again this year since I missed the show in San Francisco.

we actually went to the LA and SF show this year. The SF show was much better than last year considering it was at the same time as the LA show. The LA show was unbelieveable...I got pics of what you missed out on if you want em.

s/n: the Skyline not having ropes around it was nice.

The San Jose show is always the weakest of the lot. Apparently this year more so than any we've had in a long time.

Yeah I wasted 9 bucks today and was only there for 30 minutes. I kept looking for other rooms that would have other cars until I found the floor map and said WTF! At least I got to see the SFO Auto Show.

Also did anyone else notice that BMW had a 2006 3 series on the floor??? I thought this was the 2009 Auto show?? That's how bad it was that BMW was bringing old shit to the show.. HAHA

just came back from the SJ show. definitely the worst one i've been to in recent years...

All of my favorite automakers were missing this year WTF...
Audi, Porsche and Ferrari. :P

Weak economy or not, isn't the point of bringing cars to this event to spur interest (& thus sales) of your cars? People are *paying* money to see your offerings...that's the best (and easiest) form of advertising ever!

I'm just glad we had those $5 off coupons and free motortrend magazine subscriptions. Basically went there just to sign up for a year of motortrend for $5. :)

I find there are better cars at major Car Races then the SJ auto show. At the ALMS in Leguna Seca this year, the ZR1 was there, tonnes of very nice cars just parked in the parking lot and the care make areas (BMW, Audi, Corvette, etc...)

And at the Infineon Raceway Nascar race a couple of years ago, there were alot of nice cars too.
