My CF pic of the day

I'm about two minutes short of CF-ing my kitchen cabinets and stairway steps.

Anyhow, gotta head out for the night, but here is what got done today.

Lol on the addicts. Hello, my name is Lee and I'm a CF addict.

The snorkle actually had a huge bare spot right in the middle. I sanded too far and when right through to plastic. It is PATCHED! Instead of fully recovering, I tested my skills by matching up a scrap piece, layering resin, and sanding smooth.
It's between the two indentations right where they curve, and about a half-dollar size.
I've looked at it from all angles, and I can't tell where it was now.
Which means, I'm going to really go all out on my splitter and change the weave lines every foot or so, or do left side one angle and right side another.

i'm going to try molding cf parts instead of overlay. test mule is my trunk spoiler

i think the cabinets would look cool in cf, but remember you might have to shave the dog first for the cf the hold correctly

Great work, Lee! I've always thought the snorkel needed CF. Might also help a little with preventing heat soak since the CF should help act as a heat shield from the engine. Ok... maybe not much, but a little bit.

How do you stick the CF to the plastic?

i believe you lay a thin layer of resin/hardener solution on the surf let it tack up a bit lay the cf fiber and brush/coat the fibers with another layer of resin.

let it cure , sand it down , patch up in perfections with more resin , dry , sand , clear coat after you've achieved the desired look.
