    hey guys im wondering if any one knows if i could get GIAC to install a chip if i didnt buy it from them or awetuning, i found someone on hear selling just a chip for 100 and i got to jump on it. i'v been told you can do it youself but i would be a little worried about screwing somethin up.

    its surface mount... how good are you at soldering. I would take it to somewhere that specializes in surface mount soldering im sure they will do a better job.

    awe probably wont do it and neither will GIAC. Unless you ask really nicely. They want you to buy the flash program so you cant just sell teh chip etc. I bought a chip and they traded me for a flash but I got a hard time about it. But if you ask niceley they may help you out. After all it is their product.

    You should be able to find a shop that can solder it on for you. Just search around at shops inquiring.
