    New Engine/Timing Belt/Dirtybrd

Chris (dirtybrd) installed my timing belt today and noticed something about my engine - he thinks it might have been replaced! I got the car in May 2008 with about 65k on it. I noticed this sticker under the hood and in the glovebox, but I didn't think much of it. Chris also noticed that my engine code isn't stamped with dots - they're solid lines - and it looks like the engine had been lifted based on the marks on the lift point. Maybe it was replaced in July 2006 per the date on the sticker. Guess I'll call Audi to check it out.

That would also explain why the timing belt wasn't too bad. There might only be 40k on it. Glad I got it changed anyway.

Kudos to Chris - it was cool meeting him and having him work on my ride. After seeing his car I have inspiration for my own. Who says Silver B6's can't look sweet?

P.S. - thanks for the can of Nightshades! gonna try it out tomorrow.

haha yeah I have the same sticker. I bought mine back in June 08 and before I got it, it was sent to Audi of Orlando and they found metal shavings in the block. So under warranty, the engine/little baby ko3 was replaced at 31k , then I bought it thru a dealer friend in New Smyrna.

Good to know. I need to redo the "What's Your Audi's Age" thing in the Chatterbox forum. I think my car just got a lot younger!
