Signal bulbs off until blinking MOD?

For my E36 this is a common thing.. we tape over 1 of the leads that keeps the corner light on all the time so it only turns on when it is blinking.

Now, today I installed OEM Valeo 1 piece projectors, when I got everything done and put back together, my driver side signal marker is on all the time and the passenger is not. They both work when signaling of course.

Did I just accidentally do a mod? Any ideas what the hell I did wrong? I never took the bulbs out... because they both blink properly it would appear that they are plugged into the right wire from the harness.

but i did CC mod last night and when i have my lights on it kinda doesnt look that great with a bright orange light on all the time causei usually drive with my lights on no matter what time of day it is (i did buy some silverstar blueish tinted bulbs but they are still orange when lights on)

you use a vag to turn them off.

Vag? The poon? I am kidding. I don't have that.

And I just got restless and wouldn't be caught dead driving with just 1 corner light on so I took a stab and cut 1 of the 3 wires (brown is obviously the ground), and it turned out to be wrong, so I patched it up and cut the other and it works like I wanted it to now. I will probably have to get vagcom soon huh.

I didn't know you could vagcom the lights out. To eliminate the ambers, just do what the op said. use electrical tape and tape one side of one connector on the amber bulb. There are two connectors, just tape one side of one and ambers a eliminated, it blinks when blinkers are switched on.

the easiest way is to snip 2 of the (3?) wires coming from the bulb. Not positive on the colors, but it is the skinnier ones. You can not do this on a vag-com for our cars from what I know of.

No, just 1. You need 1 of them to control the signaling, and 1 to ground it.

I wouldn't cut anything, just put a piece of electrical tape over one of the leads on both your turn signal bulbs.

It has to be the right lead on each bulb or it won't work, but you will know if you did it wrong, if the bulb doesn't light up at all, etc.

Im guessin you installed the bulb backwards... if thats possible som older lights if you install em backwards they only work one way.

I love the look of bulbs only on when you need to signal. Mine only come on when i need to signal...either then that there off and the only lights i have on are my headlights.
