Ecodes SOS Headlights not even.. Pics

I have a set of OEM e-codes that I bought about a month or so ago and I am having some technical difficulty. The left (drivers) for some reason is lower than the passenger one. The beam is the same hight as the right one just the projectors are lower than usual. When the car goes to self adjust itself the left wont go down because it hits the chrome housing (and is actually starting to ding it). Could I have turned one of the screw dials too much? Look at the pics:

    Right side: Notice the clearance

    Left side: Notice the clearance

Here are the Xenon projectors, you can see just what exactly im talking about better

-- Now I know the left light is supposed to be at the height on the right one, but I dont know how to make it that height without having the beam project to the sky and blind everyone in their sight. --

    PLEASE HELP ME! THANKS

I actually have a similar issue with my ecodes but mine is not very bad at all. I think mine is a damaged adjuster since they are prone to breaking. Did you check those?

Pull the headlight off the car, take off the bulb cover behind the projector, and check the adjusters. Make sure they are seating correctly and the projector does not move at all.

IIRC channel 55 on vagcom will allow you to re-align the internal adjustments. get the lights set up the way you want and then use the vagcom to re-align everything.

OK, if the beam aim is off with the adjusters equalized, then there are a couple of causes for that. First, the projector as mounted in the housing, is either loose or crooked on the mounting pads. The projectors use spacers between the projector frame and the mounting pads to set the distance equally when tightened down. If some spacers are missing, or the projector is loose or not tightend down properly, then the projector won't be aligned with the internal mounting that is moved by the adjusters, so the adjusters must be set to compensate. That is why the internal housing is lower than the other side with the beam aim equalized. The cause for the projector misalignment inside the housing must be determined and corrected, then the adjusters need to be set about the same place as the other side. Examine and compare the gap between the projector lens and the chrome surround, the gap should be the same all around the lens, and the same as the other side housing assembly. The relative position of the leveling servo motor must be reset manually on the workbench too. Finally, the mounting of the housings must be about the same with the gap between the bottom of the housing and the top of the bumper about 1/8" or so, and the basic setting of the controller needs to be reset using vag-com.

all valeo ecodes have the city lights hole :] to prevent and thread jacking, you can pm me with your questions. Though I own a b5, I've read pretty much every ecode thread on this forum when researchign the differences between ecodes and us lights and bi xenons and regular single xenons

Sounds like you have DOT bi xenons, not ecodes.

Is their a DIY on this... It sounds really complex.. A little more info on these lights;when I first installed them, they were ok, until I decided to mess around with the screws (the two on each headlight used for adjusting the beams, and since then I have this shitty problem.. UGHH!!

Since the problem didn't exist before you changed the adjuster screw settings, then the problem is likely isolated to just the adjuster screws and the auto leveling servo motor positions. The easiest thing to do is as already suggested, is examine the adjusters. Remove both headlights, and with the back covers removed, compare the adjuster screw positions with the headlight that is OK. you will also need to re-adapt the basic settings in the auto leveling controller with VAG-COM after equalizing the adjuster screws on both sides. With the auto leveling controller in basic settings mode, the headlights are aimed using an aiming target setup on a vertical wall. To adjust the vertical aim, BOTH adjusters are turned equally, to aim the lateral or horizontal aim, only the INNER adjuster screws are turned. Adjust the vertical elevation aim first.
Carefully examine the adjusters on the bad side, make sure that there are no broken components on the adjusters.
