Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
i might pick up a set from ebay.
these are the covers not the whole housing.
who else has them?, im worried they will look bad because it says they go over the existing mirror housings

    thanks in advance...

    Re: Carbon Fiber mirror covers

Sounds tacky if there just covers, and will probably make the housings look off. Save a bit more and get the actual CF housings.

speaking of wrapping carbon fiber yourself. Has anyone done it, or know someone who has? Or at the very least know of a good place to buy some, or research the topic?

i have mirror caps havent looked back...

rather have caps then spend $400 on the real deal.

only thing i would sugest is painting the mirrors black first. then putting the cap on after you have painted them.

    looks a million times better

I'm actually in the middle of my CF project. I've spent about $70 and when i'm done i'll have all my interior trim, both ashtray covers, mirror covers and hopefully my engine cover (depending on how much carbon fiber fabric i'll have left).

do you guys think its even worth putting cf mirrors on an already black car...it will look almost the same, and it would be hard to recognize that they are cf...im in a pickle between CF mirrors, or the aluminum ones...

No vaccum bagging. I use 3M spray adhesive. I spray the whole peice of carbon fiber that i'm using to wrap the part with the 3M, wait a few minutes for it to tack then i wrap the part nice and tight....thus no need to vaccum bag. works perfect!!

I ordered the CF and resin a while ago, just waiting for the resin. Do you spray the back of the CF directly or the part where your sticking it to, aka the mirrors directly?

I actually spray on the fiber but, I guess you can spray it on the mirror covers.
