New B5 Owner, couple of quick questions

I feel my clutch slipping when I launch and sometimes when I powershift into 2nd, my car is around 307 at the fly. Is this normal or should I look at getting a replacement clutch?
It is a new car to me so I just don't know if its normal to slip at the fly before on the road, but I would assume if the clutch grabs like its supposed to and my tires aren't going to slip then the engine speed would just drop and the car would go as fast as it can from there. Is that right? This is my first 4WD car.

    --

Also, an unrelated note, I read that paying attention to turbo warmup/cooldown is very important if I am planning on keeping my stock turbos alive. Does that mean I should just not run heavy boost until my temp is up to 250ish or what?

    --

Also, it seems like piggles are the way to go in terms of DP modification. I know the exhaust note changes and it helps with lag, etc., but is there an associated power gain? If so how much? Is getting piggles expensive (including O2 sensor relocation)? How much? I am going to replace the cat back at some point (most likely with the Borla), should I wait until then to deal with piggles or does it not matter?

Any info would be very appreciated, thanks.

    1. If thie car is still on stock clutch, you should replace it with something in the realms of a rs4 clutch to grab al lthat added torque from the apr software. Sooner or later, with a few hard launches, the clutch will give up.

    2. After every hard drive, you should always lay off the throttle for the final mile and let the car cool down for at least 2 minutes before shutting it off. If I recall correctly, there's a mod you can do to activate the oem fan to cool the the turbo even faster after stopping the car. Or you can just get a turbo timer.

    3. I believe stage 2+ in the b5 s4 includes having "piggies"

    Thanks for your response.

2: Is there an associated warm-up time too? I'm assuming my turbos won't like it if I'm going to 16 lbs on a cold engine, but I'm no car-ologist. If I need to wait, does it need to be fully warmed?

3: Would it thus not make sense to get them until I've done the cat-back, or would I still see a benefit? And what are the power gains with it?

    Thanks!

    2. You should always wait until the oil temp guage needle moves before going full boost. I usually don't let my car go over 3k rpm until that oil guage needle starts creaping towards the middle.

    3. It would be more cost efficient to do everything at once rather than doing them one at a time. in your case, I'd do the piggies when doign the cat back. I'm not exactly sure how much power piggies add as I don't own a b5 s4. But it does open up your exhaust and thus result in less restriction and higher flowing exhaust. And turbo cars love anything that increases the effiecency of flowing.

Re: New B5 Owner, couple of quick questions

the FAQ states ( i believe ) HP gains of 5-20hp .. all dependent on supporting mods... on stock k03's i'm leaning towards 5hp.... with some k04's.. 20hp... make sense ?

someone correct me if i'm wrong

General rule of thumb is an oil temp of 175 before boost

Thanks! The FAQ had values for aftermarket DPs and I wanted to see if I could expect the same out of Piggies... I'm sure that is already answered somewhere.

Actually while I'm here and since you all have been so helpful so far, does anyone know what temp. the stock headlights are? I want to replace my turn bulbs and my fogs to match, I am guessing they are 6000k but I haven't been able to find any info, does anyone know?

they sell normal blubs with a "rating" or color that closely matches each HID temp rating.
