    Re: painting interior trim

its definitely possible to get it painted. you can apply paint to any surface made from any material as long as you use the right kind of paint and prep the surface appropriately. then only thing you have to worry about is that the color may appear to be a slightly different shade on the different surfaces. just ask anyone who's DIYed color-matching side markers. it comes really close but not quite perfect. even still, you can usually avoid this by applying 2-3 primer coats.

in your case its just the trim so you really shouldn't have anything to worry about as far as mismatched colors are concerned. and if it really is wood trim, not just wood-like, you might be better off taking it to a carpenter than a body shop. haha.
Excuse me sir, but you left your muffler at the light back there.

Me too. Post the price quote they give you. Also tell them you'll take it out of the car and put it back in. To save labor.

good idea on removing and installing yourself, its very simple. Anything can get painted, make sure they apply a few coats of clear to get it looking right and shinny as well as a protector for dings and scratches.

i would figure at most 100 bucks to paint.

I wouldn't paint that wood if I was you, it was an expensive option. See if you can sell it, then get some trim from a wreck and paint that.

why not paint it yourself? Shouldn't cost more than 20 bucks and a days worth of time. Sand it, 2-3 coats of primer, black coat, few coats of clear.
