Check engine blinking, power loss & codes...

All,

Today when I left work my 3.0 A4 lost power pretty much, the check engine light started blinking up a storm and the car sputtered like a tractor.

It recovered after a bit while I tried to find a spot to pull over.

I got a few codes P0300, P0304 and P0306. Which means (if I'm not mistaken) random misfires, cyl. 4 misfiring and cyl. 6 misfiring. Given that 4 & 6 are on the right side I assume it was no coincidence they failed simultanously?

Any idea what may have happened here? Coilpack(s) toast? Wire broken? Anything?

I've driven a few miles since and it seems to be alright, but I don't quite trust it...

Any suggestions?

this is almost 99.9% certainly CP went out.

what is your milage on that AVK-3.0?

my cylinder 5's CP is about to go at 76k miles now.

P0300, P0305.

I'm the 4th person whose CP is blowed today.

replace all coilpacks to prevent future failure.

Mileage is about 103k. Weird thing is though that I *think* all 6 coilpacks were replaced when I had my timing belt down at around 95k.

Also, any idea why I would get two errors at once (p0304 & p0306)?

if your timing belt was replaced under warranty (mine was covered by warranty at around 97k), then I highly doubt that the coilpakcs were replaced unless you specified for them to be replaced. Check your records/receipts, if they were replaced, I'm sure they have some sort of warranty on them.
