Re: Dashboard lights dont turn off? Need HELP!!!

i took out fuse 15 and that turned off the dashboard lights (the lights stayed on when the car is turned off). i then put a new fuse in there and the dashboard lights up so something is wrong. i left the fuse out so i dont run out of batteries....

what do ya think i should do?

Weird, I think I have the same problem in my S4. Maybe that's why my battery keeps dieing.

check the ground connections on the bulbs. i had a similar issue with led bulbs in the taillights. whenever i would break my entire dash would light up

Sounds like a broken earth connection.

    Or moisture ingress somewhere...

Yeah I swear aftermarket xenons will make stuff act weird. When i turn mine on some type of warning light will quick flash, it will be either a seatbelt or coolant or oil or brake light.

I doubt the Xenon's have anything to do with the dash lights remaining on.

theyv been in for almost a year...but iv always had problems...i think they messed up the wiring....i always get a "power surge" when i turn them off that resets the radio and sometimes blows the fuse, and now i have a feeling it screwed up my dashboard.

im taking it in on monday to have the wiring looked at..

I hate to revive an old thread, but was anything ever found about this? My interior lights stay on permanently unless I pull fuse 15. No one seems to know anything about it.

Which lights, specifically? The dome lights and footwell lights and such? Trunk lights? (AKA "courtesy lamp circuit"). Or the dashboard "illumination" lights (gauge backlights, radio button backlights, window switches, etc.)

The backlighting for radio, vents, HVAC, etc... Dome lights seem to operate normally.
