So a tip engine can be used w/ a 6sp, but can a 6sp engine be used in a tip?

And if so, what exactly needs to be done to do so? If it does work, I may have my engine sold

Thanks buddy. Yeah I'll hit you back soon.

I know they're internally balanced, but for example when running a tip engine in a 6-speed car there's an extra vaccum line or something that you have to bung. Do you need to add a line to the 6-speed motor or something when running a tip?

Expand on sai please and does said sai mean that a 6-sp can't be used in a tip car?

shouldn't have anything to do with the motor though, I would imagine all the small differences are fittings or Y pipes, not actual engine components

secondary air injection. It doesn't really do any thing as most of us B5 A4 guys just leave it unplugged. If I recall correctly, it is used to warm your cats up after start up.

yup that secondary air injection is bullshit. All it does is makes your car sounds crappy on a cold start up and goes away after a min or 2.

IMHO just a waste of space.

radiator is a bit different.. you have to open the holes in the 6speed one to accept the trans lines.

the SAI holes are blocked off in the 6 speed heads. This will mean that it isn't just a plug and play deal. Without new software or other mods the cel will be on for SAI low flow. Not that it can't achieved you just want to be sure the buyer is aware of the issues.

I can't see the SAI being an issue at all, the 6spd car dosn't have a SAI, therefore won't have the connections or the ability to detect that its not working.

It's a 6-speed motor going into a tip car, not vice versa

I've heard of people using a resistor in place of the pump, car thinks its working but it will save a code saying the warm up time is too long, but won't set off the CEL.

at least thats what a guy at one shop told me.

Little different idea here. As far as your tip motor is concerned, you just need to block off the secondary air injection holes. If you get serious about it I've got some info on part #'s and whatnot needed for the tip to 6speed swap as well. Feel free to email me when you for sure want to do it.
