Boost leaks suck......

especially ones this big Fixed, the issue reworked the plumbing and clocked the turbo and now have 2" of clearance between the manifold and the charge pipe coupler. It even burnt through the heat protective wrap as you can see to the right of the coupler, sorry for the crappy cell phone pic.




I also added a resonator, to get rid of my highway drone (this 4"x18" Vibrant piece did wonders). Car is not really that quiet still with both a resonator an muffler, but at least in cabin at 5th I can hear myself think

I run a #11229 Magnaflow muffler and aVibrant 1795 resonator now . The whole setup is 3" NLS did the original exhaust and JM Fabrications just added the resonator for me

It's a bit quieter now, but mostly at highway speeds the drone is gone. I can hear the turbo a lot more now as well as the open dump

That's about normal for a GIAC 93 file honestly. X would hold maybe 12, but that's a whole other program and only on 01's.

A few neighbors said something, and I can't stand long trips in the car now. I'm adding a cutout to avoid all sound crap soon Plus that should free up more ponies than before adding the resonator

I used to wear ear plugs when I drove my car 8 hrs to 034 or Gregs house.

sound clip on the resontator? I have horrible drone from my exhaust. been looking for a resonator to stop it a bit. i was looking at an aeroturbine resonator but havent found any sound clips. i dont mind the exhaust sound just the headache making drone that it emits from highway speeds.

I had the same problem with my charged pipe coupler. Melted the crap out of it. Waiting for a new one. And I added a cherry bomb before my magnaflow to quit it down some. Sounds really good. When you goin back to Uni???

If you guys dont visit the B6 forum much, you should check out Jakes post about his Dad's B6 2.0 GT3076r that 034 just got done tuning. The thing just put down 417awhp on 93 octane and 25psi.

bassed: Not sure how much you 'looked around' for the resonator but I am wondering if a Cherry Bomb would accomplish the same thing? I LOVE the sound of my exhaust (3" SS TB, catless, Borla with dual 3" ends)... but at around 2750rpm and up at constant highway speed it's a bit much. By the end of a 3-hour 70mph road trip, a passenger and I nearly lost our voices, haha. Oh and I just want to have a Cherry Bomb sticker on my car, ha-ha (+5hp ftw!).

I don't want to completely kill the head-turning BLATBLAT, haha, but I DO have to do something.

I was thinking of adding that resonator to my setup but rather went with the "ultraquiet" series. Didn't notice much of a difference with drone or loudness of exhaust. Milltek muffler fyi...pretty loud

Whatever you two had go down is your business, Jim's a great guy to deal with from a customers perspective and does better work than anyone else around. I am glad I have a person of his calibre local and who will work on a platform he's not typically doing work on, while doing it better and for what his time estimates are compared to those in the VW/Audi scene. I am sure as you dip into this scene more you will come to understand and see this. You've also seen my car and know the level of quality I run and expect.

Well that's not it, it's a brand new shop location for JM Fabrications. One of his old guys is one here and I thought you were him, sorry for the confusion. I'm sorry you live in that area. Why the hell would I go to a hot rod shop for anything? They don't usually run turbo's.....maybe if I wanted a old shool heads expertise on NOS I would, but I don't. Use deductive reasoning next time, k.
