Ok this just happened and I'm not near home I pulled up to a light cars idling real rough. I puuled over and changed cp's out thinking that was the culprit right away nothing...when I start the car it revs up to like two grand and eventually settles down to normal but it's still rough and only holding ten vac. MAF or something else...

    Re: Immediate help requested

Not likely it is the MAF, especially if you are seeing -10 vacuum at idle. Most likely you blew the suction jet pump or some other type of vacuum/boost leak.

Unplug your MAF and you will be able to drive the car.

    Re: Immediate help requested

Most likely a vaccum leak. I forgot a worm gear on my DV and the compressor side blew off and the idle was crap and would stall out.
    Quick easy fix.

Definitely a vacuum leak. When I had forgot to plug the vac port on the Intake manifold, the car would "self" rev to 3500 RPM and then settle back down and then repeat!

And that's exactly what it's doind. I didn't want to spend my Saturday working on the car besides the tranny mount; oh well it sounds like a great time to get rid of all those extra hoses and secondary air crap under the hood. Either way thanks everyone for your help; she made it home and it is definitely a vac leak the hunt will begin tomorrow.

I had the #11 valve break apart on me once

A second time one of the intercooler hoses popped off. Both times, I had no vaccuum/boost, car ran very rough with barely any throttle response. It stalled pretty much everytime I let off the throttle but idle never jumped up and down like you guys described.

    Re: Immediate help requested

So there is NO leaks...tennis ball method visually inspected each hose, and pretty much took the vac system out and back in trying to find it. I'm down to probably a suction jet pump or another type of valve which your not going to tell from a boost leak. I'm going to drink some beer; I'm done for the day...it won't fix the car but I'll sure as hell feel better.
