Looks like a decent intercooler setup for the price, is it worth it? anyone here running it? suggestion? thanksyou-Rob

That would work fine if all you want it for is looks. This is just a pieced together system and not something designed around our cars or for performance.

tinaalia is running it... i can tell you that it doesnt come with hangers to mount it... and you will also have to remove your fog girlles due to the way the pipeing is shaped

i bought an ebay intercooler, and did a custom install. i think it works perfect and i can deff feel a difference. PLUS its been proven through a dyno that ebay intercoolers work just as well as all aftermarket ones. just very minimal differences, nothing major. were going to do our best to make the foglights work tho.

unless you're trying to squeeze every bit of horsepower out of your setup as humanly possible, there really is nothing bad to say about running the ebay cooler. the difference as others have pointed out, it won't be as clean of an install. you will almost certainly have to do some minor custom fabrication to make it work (mounting points, running piping, etc). but it does the exact same thing all other intercoolers do, and that is cool your intake temperatures.

yup, give it a try and see how you like it. if you dont you can sell it and get a new one. Besides Tina, I havent seen anyone else run it, do the community and favor and get it and post your thoughts and impressions.

hey tinaalia what kind of gains did you notice from running this system? Also I seen that you took off your fog inserts to make it fit, do you know if this would be the same case for me because I have a non-sline. Thanks-Rob

i dont know how it will fit with a non s-line, you might have to do some cutting. i just went ahead and ordered the RS4 front, and i figure worst comes to worst, ill just leave the mesh out. i deff feel an HP gain, prob about 10hp (if not, more), and you can just hear your car breath. i also think that i feel less turbo lag. i promise you'll be pleased. advice to you - install is a bitch. open the box and get the parts you need before you begin to install...

I would be very scared to buy any after market ebay parts esp. if they are for my motor. I don't know if i believe them about the 10HP.

O, well you were right in both posts. I wouldn't waste $350 bucks unless it was completely worth it. I would save up an extra and just do a known company on the forums.

I think the AWE FMIC is the shit and it you want the best of the best its them, I'm not a fan of "kits" that could work for any car.

I would go for it. It's very similar to other more well known companies and mounting it shouldn't be too difficult

I modified the grills in my fog lights, as well as the stock intake ducts to give the stock look.
I had a slight problem with the piping against the left headlight, but nothing a little pushing and pulling didn't cure. It does not fit under the stock crashbar unless there is a different core from my kit. Here is some pics. Personally I would go for it.

if you're mainly looking for aesthetics and sound it doesn't seem like a bad way to go for only $350. but keep in mind that if you don't have the ability to do the fabrication & installation yourself, you very well could end up paying an additional $300-$500 to have it done at a shop. ...in which case, you might as well spend all that $$$ on something that is designed specifically for the B7, that fits the original mounting points, and that you can install yourself without having to pay a shop.

Also, remember that if this kit requires you to remove the crash bar a simple fender bender could cost you thousands extra and your insurance company won't pay most of it. You would have to ask tinaalia about that part though.

what does 10 hp "feel" like?

i mean you're absolutely sure it doesn't feel like 5, and it's not 15? but 10? are you just guessing this number, or did you get this tested?

is this 10 hp at the crank, or at the wheels?

would a more accurate statement be: "it feels faster, and it sounds different but i don't really know how much power it adds, because i have no means of testing accurately"

Yes, my front crash bar was removed. I am going to have my shop modify it to fit properly.

Insurance would not cover any damage that would be caused due to removing which is correct. Which is one of the reasons why my beater is getting so much use.

If after I have re fabricated the crash bar there is sufficient damage, I would be more worried about the well being of myself and passengers if that be the case. I do not believe that I would jeopardize much in a small fender bender with a re fabricated stock bar.

If I lived in DC, Baltimore, or Philly, it would be a totally different story.

My fogs fit, but with some minor cutting. I still need to take a dremmel to sure up some of the rough edges.. You can see in the photo.

Yeah I saw that, I'm just talking about the perfect fit that everyone is looking for that requires no modification.

It's a shame you had to do that to your fog light grille
As of right now you could probably just cut the strip off, or even add some rs4 mesh to that beezy.
