Going to be in New York for a week

Going to be at the USMA for a week, what do you guys recommend doing for fun/cool spots to go out to?

If you like history just walk around West Point and take it in. There are alot of monuments and nice views. If that is not your thing, I have heard there are some decent bars to go to. Other than that I know that most people who go to USMA, go to NYC.

NYC is the plan...Jersey sucks, been sitting on the Tarmac in Chicago for three hours, friggen air traffic hold in Newark, prolly three more hours before we leave.

EWR has gotten really bad recently with flights. They delayed my departure for Puerto Rico over 3hrs and there were delays for my flight home.

There is an awesome cupcake shop in the lower east side (around 3rd ave). A very small sushi restaurant resides in that area too. Awesome sushi.

For outdoor stuff (hiking etc..) the Gunks up in New Paltz are good but its a bit cold to be doing stuff like that right now.

I think Greg (actlsub9) is in that area right now (Newburgh,etc..). Could meet up with him.

IF you're in NYC.. here's what i would do if i were you...

start from Ground Zero.. walk down to Sea Port , then buy a whole day metro card and take the train to Grand street on the R or N or 3, 4, 5 Train to China Town, roam around there and walk to Little Italy.. then take the train up to SoHo at 8 street and check out all the hippies... then take the train to W4. and check out all the tattoo spots. Walk to Union Sq and see the area there.. then take the train to 42 Time Sq and roam around there also...take train to 57 street to Central Park, you can also do some shopping there for some LV, Gucci stuff. Take the train up to 130 street to Harlem and check out the area there....

now, that's just for roaming around.. if you want to go musium.. i have a list of that as well.....

if you don't like Manhatten, you can head over to Brooklyn... Queenz or the Bx...

dont walk in central park at night, keep a knife on you, and dont walk thru harlem after 10. just had to point out the negatives to keep you safe and not look like a complete lost tourist.

lol my friend goes to columbia, I guess I should count my blessings Ive walked around at night hammered quite a few times
