Which High Performance Car Would You Get?

This all stems from a calendar I have in my office. Everyone comes in and is head over heals over the BMW M6 for January. Myself, I'm not a fan. There are so many other cars on the market I would rather have. I don't get why everyone is so gaga about it. Sure, the M6 is probably a daily driver, but who really wants to drive around a V10 daily?

The survey is a list of comparable cars and I'm just curious, if you could afford any of these what would it be? Also, if you vote wildcard (has to be in the same price range), what is your pick?

The pricing posted is 2008 pricing from Edmunds.com.

Bizarre mix of GTs (I'd probably pick the Maserati for its sex appeal) and more performance-oriented cars (R8 over the Viper)...........

PS: FWIW, the S85 V10 in the M5/M6 makes for a great DD, at least according to M5 owners' comments on a Benz forum

i voted Viper bacause currently you have employee pricing and shit load of rebates. We just sold a brand new 2008 Viper (MSRP $85,000) for $69k.

personally id go wild card and say CLK 63 AMG Black Series. Not the fastest out there but I have fallen in love with that car.

Nah, my first love has just always been American V8s, and the Z06 has one and is a really fun car (yes, I've driven one).

Hell, if I didn't need AWD I would be buying an '03 or '04 Mustang Cobra instead of any of the other cars listed in my 'What would you buy?' thread. Don't get me wrong, I like a LOT of different kinds of cars, but there is nothing like a V8 ripping through the gears and lighting up the (rear) tires, or at least not to me.

That's fine if your into that.I would rather have a Pantera for that then a new Mustang or Vette. I prefer a more refined better sounding Euro V8 or V12 to burn trough the gears.My Audi V8 sounds pretty sweet.

I voted r8 but it probably wouldn't be my choice but you didn't have the best comparisons. I would also love the viper but its not as sexy as the r8. ZR1 would be my choice for that price range though.

I went for the Jag, But if i could have any jag i wanted, it would be the new XF-R coming in the next few months. 5.0L supercharged, direct injected 500HP V8, BMW better come up with a better engine for the M5/6 because the jag is going to have sledgehammer torque.

but a turbo'd GT3RS? why not a GT2? If the GT3 were meant to have a turbo it would have a turbo. but yes, GT3 RS...my dream car.

when i was at Le Mans 2006 i saw a white one with the turquoise wheels and script...absolutely ridic.

not trying to argue, but, if i had the money to buy a $125,000 car i'd probably have the money to buy a $190,000 car. therefore, i would buy a GT2 and skip putting an aftermarket turbo on my GT3. elementary logic. this is why porsche offers the two vehicles. non aspirated engines appeal to a lot of people just as turbo engines do the same.
