what is this called?

my mom took my car to the dealer today and she said that there is a ring for a pump in the transmission that is broken or something? and i just got a new transmission, so shouldnt it be covered under the warranty? i got quoted 530+ tax for it at the audi dealer, where the indy. place was only 300....so should i try to get them to fix it cause of the warranty of the new tranny? cause i think that shouldnt be happening...or does that have nothing to do with it ?

I would call them up and have them tell you exactly waht went bad in the tranny. And for the trans being new, depending on where you get it, it should be covered under warranty.

if its a part in the tranny then you should at least e covered by the 6 months/3000 miles warranty that they have on parts that they install. Is your car still under warranty??

my car isnt under warranty, but the transmission was done in the last week of august...so it should still be under the tranny warranty...but when my mom went they said its not covered cause the guy told her they didnt replace the transmission...she the dealer lied right in my moms face, because we paid for a new transmission...what can i do...i know my dad has some connections in the audi world, so hes gonna make a few calls and see what we can do...
