Thinking of moving into an S4 Avant

I'm considering selling my A4 S-Line and trying to find a used 06-07 S4 Avant this summer. Just wondering how hard it might be to locate one?

Things I would look for
1. Auto (I know)
2. Sprint Blue, White or Silver in that order
3. less than 35K miles
4. CPO
5. Close to loaded with options

they're not that big, so moving in to one won't be very practical. The headrests are too firm for sleeping.

The combo you are looking for should be relativley easy to find(except for the sprint blue), especially if you are willing to travel for the right car and spend some time looking. The only thing that may be an issue is the CPO part but you can get an aftermarket warranty to cover that.

I think you'll have trouble finding one. I looked really hard for one in May 2008, and eventually bought a sedan out of frustration. I just decided that when our other sedan needs replacing, we'll get an A4 Avant at that time.

also, the pricing tends to be at a huge premium vs the sedans

Sprint blue is super rare (although there is one for sale on here in Edmonton, Canada)

If you want one, just be damn patient...scour the cars.com and autotrader.com listings regularly. I did this for 3 months. No shit. Never found one that was either equipped the way I wanted, or priced within reason. Instead I settled on a sedan that was loaded, low miles, and mint.

Two months later I saw a GREAT one that I would have bought if it was for sale...c'est la vie.

I've been looking for the last 2 months and not seen much that interest me. I guess I'll find out but I do plan to wait for an avant. A sedan just won't work for me. I wish it would cause it would make finding a car much easier.

I have never ever seen a sprint blue avant. Thats awesome. You have to jump on that dude. I took me all summer just to find my sprint blue sedan...

Thanks for the headsup on that avant. That thing is awesome. I still need an automatic and I cannot do anything until summer time. Theres a small chance I could loose my job before June and thats why I want to get rid of my current ride too. If everything works out, I'd like to replace it with an S4 after June.
