Do I REALLY NEED an afetermarket DV?

I have stage 1 APR using the stock DV and from what I can tell everything is fine. I'm not sure how much boost I am running because I do not have a gueage. But I am about to get 1+ with 380cc fuel injectors. Is it possible that the stock dv will hold up, or is that false hope?

i dont think 380cc injectors are not the best ones to use with APR +1. 225TT injectors work fine though and those are 386cc IIRC

I've talked to maany people that are running them with APR, it should be fine. What I'm asking though is f I will need a new DV?

You shouldnt have any problems, but its always good to have an aftermarket DV if your running stage1+. Like a forge 007 etc.

TT225 DV is like $25....good upgrade

if you run your car hard then i would guess yes just to avoid possible future problems.

For what it's worth I've had my 1+ for a while now and haven't had any issues with the stock DV. I'll be going with a 710N in the spring because I expect that the stock DV will eventually get blown out.

apr 1 isn't too much power so I'm guessing eventually you'll look for more which is when you'll need one. you can get away with it until then. they arent that expensive you can get one for $100 in the classifieds.

Still on my factory DV (MY 2005), 108k miles. GIAC flashed at 14,500 miles then bigger injectors at 82,000 miles. I thought I had read somewhere Audi changed the DV in the later B6s to the 710N (iirc is the popular OE part upgrade)?

I think a 710n should be fine for your setup. I considered a 710n for the GTRS kit that is on it's way to my house, but got a decent deal on a forge 007p so I have that instead. The forge is a really pretty piece of metal but if I were you Id save some loot and get a 710n.

yeah your stocker will last a little while but it will fail at some point with the higher boost

Its costs less than 200 dollars with labor to get an aftermarket dv......why not have it put in when you get stage 1+ and save yourself the hassle down the road.
