...Extending free trial time on chips?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello fellow enthusiasts!!

I am planning to get a free trial chip on my 2.0T CVT, probably APR or Revo :]

I have a couple questions that may seem lame...
Q1) Would I extend the time of the free trial, by constantly setting the clock on the car backward to the approximate time it was flashed?

Q2) If i get APR free trial first, can I get a REVO trial and then GIAC after the one of the chip's time is up? That way, I can get an idea for all of em'.

    Thank You :]

    1. i surely doubt it.
    2. i dont see why not.
    3. plan to spend 20-50 bucks for "free" trial
    4. pick one dealer that u can quickly travel to for help if you throw CELs; these cars do have their problems.

I'm pretty sure setting the clock back won't do a thing because the 6 hour free trial does not go by time of the day but rather how long the car is on. Technically you could make the 6 hour trial last a month as long as you only do 6 hours of driving.

To answer the 2nd question yes you can go to a revo dealer and then an apr dealer after. When the trial expires, the car is automatically set back to stock settings, so I'd think the apr dealer probably wouldn't even be able to tell if you'd already had the revo trial (and even if they could I doubt they'd care).

Re: ...Extending free trial time on chips?

    they pretty much answered it

    1. can't do that, the computer not the clock is what is goes off of
    2. you can do multiple trials without issues, but you are going to have to pay the labor fee each time.
