    Re: race gas files

I'm sure there is some power to be had from race gas on the Audi. But all in all 90% of the OEM motors don't pick up much with Race gas.

As it is the car on pump gas will give you 26-28 deg of timing. Some chip cars will give you 32 deg of timing on pump. Other then the tuners that don't pump the timing up for the standard chip so they can sell you a "RACE GAS" file there doesn't seem to be much room left for power timing wise.

So im with the not a big room for power with Race gas. Unless you live in cally where the pump is 91 or less.
If you don't have haters, then you're not kicking enough ass.

    Re: race gas files

We have been working on tunes for these cars and it depends on the gas that you have in your area.

If your car is already making timing in the high 20s with your existing gas (93 or 94 octane in some states can do it) then you probably wouldn't see much gains. Out here in CA on our 91 octane we do see improvements when mixing some 100 octane unleaded with the 91 octane gas. We can get the timing below 4500 rpm to increase by 14 to 15 degrees for more low end torque. The gains were decent as well.

It all depends on what timing your car is currently able to make (limited by knock sensors and the ECU tune). Log block 003 and 020 and do a full throttle pull in third gear from 1500 to 7000 rpm and email me the log. I can let you know how your gas is doing with the tune you have.
