    Sport Suspension Upgrade

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have a B7 Audi A4 2.0 with stock suspension and since I'm going with 18's, the general consensus on audizine seems to be that I need to go lower or go home! lol

So my question is can I go with Audi's OEM sport suspension without voiding my warranty? And if so how much would that cost me?

    Thanks

Sport suspension would not void your warranty, but nor would coilovers. I'd recommend shelling out the extra couple hundred bucks and getting a set of coilovers rather then the sport suspension as they're adjustable and the sport suspension just isn't low enough IMO (and in a lot of other peoples as well). However, If your mind's set on getting a sport suspension there's usually one or two floating around in the AZ classifieds.

I live out in the country so I need reasonable clearance to get over railroad tracks and down my driveway (long dirt two-track). The sport suspension gives me just enough clearance without having the 4x4 look of the standard. It suits my needs.

i'd say get coilovers but if you want i might be able to sell you my sport suspension - springs and shocks.

I've got H&R springs on now and bilstein shocks. All my stock stuff is in good condition.

You can get a nice set of brand new coilovers (Stasis Street Sports) for about a grand (give or take). Or once again you could check the classifieds here and get a used set for about $500-$700.

    Re: Sport Suspension Upgrade

One thing to remember, while the stock sport suspension may be lower, just about anything aftermarket like Koni, Eibach, H&R, etc...is gonna significantly outperform it from a handling standpoint. Also, I saw that one thread recently where people with stock sport suspension complain about how bouncy it is/how harsh the rebound can be when going over bumps.

One other thing....and I mean this with the utmost respect because every once in a while there are deals (or decent used sales), but it's a bit misleading to say the Stasis StreetSports are a grand "give or take." Consistently, when new and purchased from a vendor, they are more like $1,150 - $1,300 + tax, not to mention install labor. Sometimes, those little differences can make or break a decision, or lead to disappointment when someone gets excited about buying a product, then finds out it's more than they initially thought.

To the OP, sounds like a shock/spring combo is more up your alley; you don't need to go as low as coilovers can, and it will save you a few hundred $$'s. They usually run between $500-$800. PM me if you wanna know about my Koni shock/spring combo, which I LOVE, and ran me $725 + tax and was $1,250 including tax, labor, and everything installed. They sit nice and low (but not too low), and the handling will outperform the stock sport suspension for sure.
