    body kits, what to buy

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have a big ass FMIC on my B5, and thus need a new front bumper to fit over it, and matching aero parts to go with the bumper.
I have been searching and researching, and have come to the conclusion that there are only a couple options available for what I'm able to spend on a full body kit... VIS for $550 shipped, AIT Racing for $450 shipped or NRG for $450 shipped

It seems as if there is a central distributer supplying all of these RS4 knockoff body kits, and while all claim to have "X" number of these kits on hand (according to their eBay ads) when you call to speak with someone, you learn that they are out of stock, and always "expecting a container"

Have any of you had any experience with the low end body kits for our cars, and if so would you please share that experience.

I'm expecting some bodywork to fit a sub $500 body kit, and while I know "you get what you pay for" -I also know how & where I drive my car, and where my priorities lie... -there's no skimping on the go-fast goods ;)

I'm simply looking to find some real world experiences with the low dollar body kits out there, so I can make a decision as to which (if any) to buy tomorrow.
    Thanks!

S4 front, s4 sideskirts, and if your car isnt black, paint the rear lower lip to match your paint. Cost: around $600

You're lucky to find just the front bumper for that price...

yeah, s4 front and sides are going to be a bit more than $500.. plus I hate how everyone tries to fit every car in the "mold" of the oem s4 look. It's clean yes, but getting a bit played out. Whatever "kit" you do decide to get try and get poly, you'll most likely regret having a fiberglass setup.

Just makes sure it's ABS plastic whatever you get. Rieger, Kerscher and Siedl makes great body kit pieces of very high quality.

Re: body kits, what to buy

abs and poly are not even remotely possible for under $500... If I found someone offering new polyurethane/ABS kits for a price like that, I'd know it was a scam.

OK, so I'm going to end up with fiberglass ( "PFRP" -right... FIBERGLASS)
has anyone here got any experiences with the low end body kits found on ebay?

let me reiterate, L-O-W E-N-D cheap ass ebay body kits... who has one, how bad was it, how horrible were the "used car salesmen" you bought it from?

-these scheisters are quite the bunch... bogus feedback, none seem to have anything in stock... it's BS story after BS story... surely someone has dealt with some of these places??? I'd like to hear the good the bad AND the ugly

Re: body kits, what to buy

    NO EBAY!!!!!!!

If you want cheap and fiberglass then go to TMTuning and buy the seidle RS4 bumper ($350), OEM S4 sides ($200-$250), and paint your rear lower.

But I think plastic and OEM are the way to go. Go big or go home.

Edit: You can sometimes find poly. stuff on ebay. If you can find that the OK. Im not against ebay but I am against cheap fiberglass.

I was looking into ebay kits too. Asked on here and there were a couple people who tried them. Ended up horrible. If I'm going to spend a bit of money getting it painted I don't want to end up having it crack or break, and having to repaint another. Ended up waiting and just keeping an eye out in the FS section.

im in a similar situation... to all those saying "just buy an S4 front" - they are impossible to get unless you check the FS section of every audi forum twice a day. Im looking at the duraflex one on ebay. One of the local NY guys got a kit from them and said the fitment was good. I have personally not seen it yet. I had a cheap fiberglass RS4 knockoff bumper and liked it until i hit a deer and it got destroyed.

Why are you looking at new parts anyway? I paid well under 500 for my Rieger bump skin. You can always post wanted adds, people are always unloading stuff or willing to part with. Grab a decent ABS bumpskn first and grab skirts later, do it in steps it's not a race take your time and do it right even if in small pieces.

S4 new at dealer is 600.00
