    Whats a realistic price for a 2000 S4 stage -3?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm thinking about selling my car and trying to figure out whats a good price. Here are the details:
    2000 Audi S4
    101k miles
    6speed
    Satorin exterior silver(white) leather interior
clean title and no accidents ever

    Maintenance:
    ABS Sensor replaced at 65K
timing belt/water pump changed at 75K
exhaust manifold gaskets replaced at 85K
    Turbos replaced with RS4 KO4 at 92K
    CV joints replaced at 97K

    Performance upgrades:
MTM stage 2 ECU upgrade 60K
APR SRT exhaust installed at 75K
2bennett coilovers and HRE 526 18x8 wheels ($1300 per wheel! Now discontinued)with 225/40/18 Pirelli Pzero Nero all season tires with 80% tread left installed at 82K
KO4 Turbos, 2bennett stage 3 clutch with lighten flywheel and new pressure plate, master clutch cylinder, lighten flywheel, Samco "F" hose, and Porsche Motorsport DV installed at 92K (bill was over $7,000!!!)

    Other upgrades:
    AWE Boost gauge
Pioneer Avic-D3 with Ipod cable and Blue thooth(not installed yet)
    DLS UP5 front component speakers
    DLS UR10 Suwoofer
    DLS A7 5ch amp
    and much more

overall in good condition, normal rock chips, 3-5 dings, light bumper scratches.
I was thinking somewhere around $16k? I've seen a few stage 3s around 18-20 so I thought thats a good starting point. Am I being realistic?

It's tough to say, a lot of people are skeptical of buying a heavily modded car, especially with over 100k on the clock.

It will depend on how many problems with it. Any codes? Boost leaks? problems?

Sounds like its been maintained, but with this economy may be hard to get that much for it. Doesnt hurt to try.

Were the intercoolers upgraded? Maybe I read past it without noticing. Just wondering if it has SMIC's or FMIC

no problems whats so ever. car is well maintained. I just get tired of cars relatively quick (2-3 years) and looking for something new.

Low 13ks.... are you sure about that? I see stock ones go for that much. I know I won't get my mony back, but I should be able to get more then what a stock one goes for right?

Who's asking 13k for a stock B4 S4? You can find them all day long for 8-9k with under 100k and slighted modded (chip/exhaust,etc), even less if you're looking at 100k plus mileage. I also think somewhere around 13k is a good estimate for your car.

    here's a stage 2 for 13k:

    Lower miles, but its stock:

can't believe that they're dropping so low now...

I might have to settle for 14k...

    Re: Whats a realistic price for a 2000 S4 stage -3?

All of the links you posted have been on craigslist for at least 6 months. You can ask any price you want but unless its a realistic you'll just end up waiting forever while the prices continue to go down.

    Heres a 01.5 w/93k for $8900
    http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/985661967.html

Heres another 2001 w/107k for $7800 and this guy's had it for a couple of months.
    http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/ctd/984312086.html

There are more if you look. I hope you get 16k for yours. Ask 16k and see what offers you're getting. Good luck.

    Re: Whats a realistic price for a 2000 S4 stage -3?

really depends if you are looking for a quick sale or not. To any normal human, they would not pay 14k for a 100k + car, modded, and 8 years old. It just doesn't make any sense when something can be bought with the same amount money, and be more reliable and user friendly. So when you price at 14k, you basically will get enthusiast only, or a retard... so in conclusion realistically if you want to sell it in this market. 10k is what I would think. To an enthusiast? 14k seems doable. But beyond that its just silly.

The area you live in plays a roll too and you should put up some higher numbers because, the person interested is only going to try an haggle you down on the price anyways. Try $15,500.01 an go from there. My .02 good luck.

Is there a import Tax or something to sell a car from US to Canada? That sounds crazy, please elaborate for us? I'm guessing Canada didn't get as many s4's as the US did.

True. I've been shopping for a low miles B5 S4 for about months now (in Denver and CA.) Test drove a STG3- B5S4 with 67K with very similar mods to yours which sold for $15.5k. I would have paid that, but he already had an offer in and I didn't think it was worth going higher. He had it on the market for about 2 weeks.

Other recent sales I was interested in:
01.5 STG 2 Nogaro with 48k miles (Mint!) sold for $14.9k
01.5 STG 1 Black with 50k miles sold for $14.9k

As someone previously said, I think it depends more on you selling to the right enthusiast. I could see you getting 14k depending on your market.

without the rims i would pay 13k. Personally i think their ugly and would get him down for it. Ive seen a very nice stock car with 91k, quite a bit of records asking for 10grand. I got the guy down to 9500 with just talking to him over the phone. just my 2 cents

    Re: Whats a realistic price for a 2000 S4 stage -3?

For what it's worth, I recently picked up a 01.5 sedan with 125K on the clock that had all major maintenance done within the last 25K miles and had the right mods (K04/997s, upgraded hoses, mounts, SSK, coilovers, exhaust, etc.) in the $10K range right after Christmas. Obviously values are going to fluctuate depending on what part of the country you are in. For around here though, that's about right for a higher-mileage example considering all of the big stuff like turbos, TB, beefy clutch, etc. have been done already. There are a handful of smaller issues I have to address but everything that could break the bank has been covered relatively recently.

You may want to consider selling the wheels separately and putting the stock rollers back on. Wheels are a highly subjective item and that may cause some people, myself included, to pass on a car if they don't fit the car perfectly.

    Good luck with the sale.

well for the record i bought my car in nov 07 with 70k on it and walked away with the car for 12g shortly after the turbos went so I think if you explained how the stock turbos and such are sketchy on a stock car and very sketchy on a chipped one, and how that once the turbos go you need to do w/p timing belt and clutch, adds up to 1800$ worth of labor alone youll get a good price, the only thing im not liking about it is no intercoolers....
