    Fog HID - 35W versus 55W

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys,

I've done a bunch of searches and some threads have touched on wattage of HID kits in the fogs, but nothing dedicated to it. I'm looking to put HIDs in my fogs (DDM has them for reasonable price in both wattage). Are one more prone to problems, triggering errors than another? I know the halogen fogs in there now are 55 watts, right? Does that mean 55 watt HID kit would be best? I don't think I need the added brightness of 55 watts but would pay a little extra for the HIDs to be trouble-free.

    Thanks,
    Greg

    Thanks,

I already read that post and saw some people saying they had 55 and some 35, with some talk of overheating the housing. I'm talking about the wattage of specific HID kits causing electrical system issues/fault codes. Anybody have any of those?

i don't think there has been any problems with the 35w kits.. some people have melted their housings with the 55w

    How? Where?

I run DDM 55watt HID's for my lows and have absolutely no problems.

Zero difference accept for the MUCH added light output.

cool, i think there is a DIY for the install on here. I think a little room has to be made for the HID bulb in the housing. ( fog lights )

When you ordered did they give u an estimated delivery day, since they said they have been behind ?

They didn't give me a date, but I'm also not in a hurry. However, I don't like the idea of them charging my credit card before they ship the product. According to GAAP accounting they are not allowed to recognize the revenue until the product is shipped.
