    side emblems on 96-97 models.

I want to paint the outside chrome black and leave the lettering chrome which i think will look nice.

i got the emblems off and they are just plastic with i think chrome paint on them. Should i still sand off the plastic chrome.. or just leave it and prime it/paint it.

If i should sane the perimeter of the emblem, which grit should i use? i have 320 and 600 at my house, start with the 320 then sand the primer a alittle down with 600? not sure. thanks

The thing is, with the preface lift audi's that have this badge on the fender, when you remove them, theres a indent of where the emblem sits. The body panel isnt flush where the emblem sits so it'll look even weirder.

Body filler, sand smooth, prep, prime, sand, paint + clear.

Sand it first. The paint will be more likely to hold

yea if you guys new about older audis you would understand you cant get rid of it... unless u plan on doing body work. I HATE people that would just paint it all back to try and blend it in with the car paint, im gunna paint them tomorrow ill show u guys the final product.

Thats going to be a wicked PITA! I would leave them alone or as mentioned above remove them which would probably just be easier to replace the fenders. In which case, I personaly would just leave them alone.
