Thumbs up APR Splitter Support Rods Install...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have been wanting to install support rods for many months...
I have the deval splitter and never liked how the splitter sorta veered upwards due to the way the bumper is shaped.
I wanted to get support rods so I could have it hang lower and that more aggressive look.
Finally bought some support rods during december and did the install today
Finished in the dark so i'll take better pics, but prob in a few weeks...
Excuse the car being dirty from all the rain and what not...

is that seam between your bumper and fender a little gappy?

The splitter looks nice, like the hangers.

aesthetically, very appealing, practically i think that would increase your drag coefficient too much for effective undercar throughput, but should increase airflow onto the intercoolers, marginal unless at high speed.

the way it was written made it imply you thought the theme of his car was "stupid as hell" along with the original assesment of his front lip spoiler.

Drilled on into the bumper and the cf lip. Install does require removal of bumper and took me afternoon - evening with me taking my time and with breaks.

And yes these are FULLY FUNCTIONAL and actually makes the deval splitter look level and lot better instead of veered upwards as compared to when I just had it drilled onto the bumper .

Yeah Ravi pulled it off well.
I think I might be the first B7 to do it ... not sure as I haven't seen anyone else running this.

    1) it goes with your theme. looks ok.

    2) the theme is not awesome. lose the tow hook. you know what they do with a wreck on the track? they get the tow truck and wheel your tube framed ass out of the rubber wall. it's clown shoes. you think you are helping aerodynamics of the car with a splitter, or making the splitter 1/4 inch lower? you say it's for looks only. ok, i'll give you that you acknowledge the fact it has no actual use. it's the equivalent of rice, kraut. to each his own though.

loving the look Elohite... i think they look sick and have always been a big fan of them, and as another guy said, reminds of of AC Schnitzer a bit... and dont worry about all the negativity, in the end its your car and not theirs and they aren't driving it anyways! keep up the good modding, i've always been a fan of your car!

    WTF does option spec mean?

And I don't exactly see how those things are considered "functional". If by functional you mean, they function to prop up the non-functional splitter, then sure I guess they are functional.

And LOL at 5 point harnesses in a street car without a roll cage. Watch out Vin Diesel.

^ easy noob... no need for the unnessesary bashing

if we were in the middle of a conversation in this thread and disucssing the functionality of this, then maybe your comment could be justified.

but to bump an old thread, just to write that garabge is completly not needed
