It Begins. Eurocode "secret" fueling goodies and ER FMIC

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So it begins gang! I just got a package in the mail today to start off my project.

I recieved. One a huge box with some nice writing on it (pics shown)

Eurocode "secret fuel pump" to support up to 1000 HP. (sorry cant give to much info out about it as Dave from eurocode will when the fueling kit is availble.

Eurocode Race Map Sensor and 3inch MAF housing.

As well as an Evolution Racewerks Competition FMIC with Rebar.

The map sensor and fuel pump are going to be part of the new big turbo tuning solution to go along with REVO software.

The map is the same as greg was runing with his recent post making 450+HP.

Sorry, I cant really give to much info out. That is for Dave at eurocode to release.

Some pics to make this thread not worthless.

ups guy looked at me weird when droping this off.

Eurocode "secret" fuel pump for up to 1000 HP

Fuel pump looks good. Subtle changes you can't really even tell.

That's it, I'm making a pit-stop there on Friday while I'm apartment shopping and bug the hell out of him till he spills the info or I come away with a map sensor and fuel pump; whichever comes first.

Nice items...I especially like the custom black re-bar that no-one will ever see (unfortunately...). I'm going to subscribe as I was a big fan of your old ride.

I can only imagine the look on the UPS guys face when you received the box - priceless.

To take full advantage (even with a GTRS) I recommend a minimum of drop-in [IE] connecting rods for that extra piece of mind (factor of safety). Some may argue no (Greg?) but I tend to be conservative. Esp if its not my motor. I might wind up doing IE rods on a fellow AZrs car when we go to this new software. Its up to him. He's thinking about it right now.

so...a high flow fuel pump adapted to the b6 internal tank fitting and a 3 bar map sensor? cool.....

of course you could use a return line and stick with an 044 pump to very high hp...been done, being done...lol.

im running ethanol at roughly 25% more flow than gas with a return line and FPR still on the stock pump with 96k miles on it...lol.

Agree, if you want to run a good amount of boost you might want to play it on the safe side.

I am actualy in the process of building a 2.0 motor with an AEB head....however we are doing the complete 3076 turbo kit with all of the REVO/Eurocode tuning goodies to see what we can do with a bone stock 1.8

I really want to do it this way so I can see my exact gains for getting that much more displacement going form 1.8 to 2.0

The car will have the same turbo same software etc...only difference will be 1.8 to 2.0 and we can see the exact gains.

point taken, i mean relatively, of course.

return system does add TONS of flexibility tho.

Yea I talked to Jordan for a bit last night. When i get the turbo on and everything dialed in on the 1.8 we are both going to go dyno.

At that time Jordan will have the same Eurocode/Revo tuning set up as me.

actually i think jordan might have it very soon ;)

Once Dialed in I will Dyno on the 1.8. I will not change anything and then dyno with the 2.0 done up.

This should be the "to do" or "not do" for people contemplating to go 2.0 or stay 1.8 with dropin rods.

I am hoping it does well on the 1.8 with the BT and new tuning.. Im sure a lot of people would love to see the 1.8 make a lot of power so they dont have to drop a shit ton on a 2.0 fully done up.

not in vast detail because it isn't necessary, but in my case running ethanol, the easiest way to go between gas and eth (depending on octane, etc) is to adjust fuel pressure, and using a b5 rail and return system (with a signal line) is one very good way to set that up. Of course you can do this a number of different ways, but the return system is simple, adjustable, and doesn't require that I change injectors as I would if I were running a stock b6 system going between eth and gas. kind of a big deal when I'm running 750cc injectors to run an alternative fuel. Additionally I have not had to run a different fuel pump even running the amount of fuel that I am, which other than Mike Hood is probably physically more squirt than any other regular poster on this forum. This is due directly to the adjustable fuel pressure, variable pressure signal system that is faster than electronic adjustment for fueling, and a legacy return system. Simply stated, it adds mechanical adjustability that most tuners would rather you purchase additional hardware for...for very obvious reasons....profit.

The car just made 335whp on a dynomite just pushing 16psi on straight 91 octane.

What? The cost between doing a built 1.8 and a built 2.0 is less then $500. Not exactly sure how that comes out to "a shit ton" of money. The only difference is the crank and thats it.

He probably meant just changing rods and not getting new pistons/rings (reusing your stock ones) So in his case you would have to buy stroker pistons $600 and then the crank ($325-350 for AEG or $650 for forged), that is an additional potential $1250 right there, then you have to get the block bored, decked, cleaned (another $300) plus shipping costs so $1500+ more than staying 1.8. O yeah and then you are gonna need new main bolts and main bearings for the new crank, you see it is much cheaper to stay 1.8

It cost about 350 for drop in rods for a 1.8 and then couple hundred tops more for bearings etc... and stock AEB pistons will work and you can get those for cheap

2.0 you need, pistons 550, rods350, bearings200, seal100, crank600, machine work 400+, AEB head plus cams valves springs etc 1400+. which all = a shit ton!

A lot cheaper to build a 1.8 block than to do a done up 2.0

You will make more power with a 2.0 over a 1.8, not to mention quicker ramp up. My old dyno graphs proved that. There is no replacement for displacement. I'm starting to work on disconnecting the ebc and tweaking the WG today. Next week it's on like donkey kong when the parts arrive... I'm stoked.

I know, so sick! I can't wait to see what the car does on some higher octane and dialed in more. Great to have another option for tuning for the B6 guys.
