Have searched....Trying to take the boot off to install short shifter. Feels like something is connecting boot to the shift rod. Do I just pull up with some force? (Haven't tried because i didn't know).

    Thanks

    Re: Shift boot

you need to remove the shift knob first by turning the shift knob counter-clockwise.

    Re: Shift boot

Just pull. It is a little hard to pull off, as the top is pretty tight. There is nothing else holding it onto the actual shifter. It is however held onto the base.

    Re: Shift boot

i thought he was asking about removing the shift boot from the actual shift lever, not from the center console base.

if you already have knob off, i think i remember from a diy some kind of retainer underneath, near the top of the boot. not sure, but maybe some1 else can chime in. sorry but im too lazy to go pull my shifter trim at the moment.
