So I was driing back home with my buddy(acutaly he was driving since he's visitng from Germany) and all of a sudden the coolant gauge reads hot. We stop to the side to find out all the g12 is spilling out onto the street. I just got the car back together from a p/s pump job so my first thought was a coolant hose, both are secured and tight. From the inital inspection it looks like it's comming from where the water pump is but I can't be sure. The car is driveable so just wondering if anyone thinks the housing could have craked and I was lucky enough for the pump Pully to stay on or if it's something else. Have records saying re pump and timmong belt were done at 60k, but let's assume it acutaly wasent and everything has 103k on it. Thanks

Auxilliary water pump failure? Seems like the same thing that happened to me and that's what my problem was.

the coolant bottel does crack. it cracked on my car a few peoples cars. However it could also be your AUX waterpump. its an easy fix that anyone can do.

I thought of that too, made more sense since I would have to be incrediably lucky for the pump to crack and not take the timming belt with it. Unfortunatly I won't be able to find anything out for a while since my A4 is in my garage getting a clutch job before selling it and it's at the point where i just need to finish it and then start on the S4. Got lucky with the tow guy, $60 for a flatbed and transport through a tunnel back home about 10-15miles away.
