    Suspension Noises

Hey guys. Lately i've been getting some noises from my suspension when im driving. It sounds like something is scraping (metal against metal) per revolution of the wheel. It gets faster as i accelerate and slows down as i decelerate. I plan on taking this in to the dealer tomorrow, but the only problem is that it doesnt happen consistently. It will appear for maybe 5 min on the interstate and then go away. What can i tell the dealer that will make them check out the suspension even if they dont hear it on their test drive?
Oh, and it also makes a hollow grinding sound in the front when its cold out and i make a turn.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

P.S. No suspension mods, stock sport suspension.

I've had this happen to me before (at least it sounds like it). The brake shield was a little off and it just needed a quick adjustment.

    Re: Suspension Noises

I get this hollow clunk noise when i come to a stop. It only happens in the front. It is so freaking annoying. I took mine to the Audi dealer and they acted like they didn't know what it was at all. haha Audi's do like to clunk.

At the same time, it doesnt sound like a scraping noise, so you definitely have a more serious problem that your dealer should immediately fix.

    Re: Suspension Noises

Could be the brake shield, or also a bearing problem; have 'em check both. I had this problem in my old car, where it would only come up if I turned left - the back-right wheel bearing was slightly bent and the added weight on that side from a left turn was aggrovating the issue.

Edit: either way, I doubt something that quickens/slows in frequency based on your speed/acceleration is your suspension.
