Torsen Differentials deliver more torque to the wheels that have more traction. so this video is crap!

This is normal because the TorSen as to see some sort od differential between the front and the rear.

Now what we don't know is and I suspect the ESP must have been deactivated. Because we have open diffs front and rear Audi decided to use ABS in reverse logic to give us a poor man's LSD.

So if the ESP is functional it should up to a speed of 50 mph brake any wheel that's spinning to give it better traction which doesn't seem to happen here. In other words the traction control managed by ESP and ABS should be able do help out in situations like this.

Of course there is nothing better than a mechanical LSD.

If I ran the rear LSD from Stasis would I completely negate the ESP?

Are you implying there's no torque differential between wheels on rollers and wheels on pavement?

It's physically impossible for that video to have an A8 with a functioning quattro. Well, unless of course they filmed it in a magical universe where you can back-drive a worm gear. If that's the case, all bets are off.

ESP and EDL are two different functions. ESP is involved with using the ABS to brake a wheel to counter a spin around the vertical yaw axis. EDL is involved with the ABS to brake a spinning wheel on slippery or low traction surfaces, to transfer drive torque to the opposite axle through the open differentials. Both also employ torque reduction as needed, but with a different control sequence.
