How do I go about removing this cover, I use the ashtray to store change and some type of coin fell behind it and now the cover won't go all the back.

Anyone know how to remove it

That's funny! Same thing happened to me. I'm going to rip it out tonight and get it out. My cover still works the same though, it was just a penny.

    Re: Removing ashtray cover?

I pulled up the shifter surround and then iirc there are a couple of torx screws to undo to pull out the entire ashtray.

    notes:

use both hands at the front of the shifter surround (3 fingers from each hand), and just pull up with some constant force.

Be careful not to let any of the clips fall off into the shifter area.

When taking out the ashtray keep it horizontal, otherwise the bits will fall out into the shifter area.

btw, there's a small plug on the ashtray for the light / power.

Great notes. That actually goes for many cars.

x4 I will try again tonight to pull it up. I have tried before but I feel like I am going to break it.
