    Fog light switch

    Anyone know which wires go to what on a pre facelift fog light switch. My plan is to replace my one dummy switch with another fog light switch and to wire that to my city lights so I can turn them on indpendently. Here is a pic for reference.

    Re: Fog light switch

    Pin 1 is for the interior lights. (to turn red at night like the others)
    Pin 2 is ground.
    Pin 3 isn't there
    Pin 4 doesn't hook up to anything. But you are able to hook up a load to it as well.
    Pin 5 is 12v power.
    Pin 6 goes to a relay that will control, in your case, your city lights.

    I would splice Pin 1, 2, and 5 into the other fog light switch's harness to make routing the wires easy.

    Pin 6 would then go to a relay. (Just like in the diagram it goes to the relay controlling the fog lights) The relay will allow you to run bigger wire on the load side (city lights) to handle the amperage they need. and fuse the wire accordingly.

    The relay would be under the hood somewhere. and the small control wire from Pin 6 would be routed through the dash to the ecubox cutout and into the engine bay.

    I know this is an old thread, but any ways;

    Does anyone know how these pins correspond to the rear fog light switch.

    If I want to tap in to the rear switch, which wire goes where? :)

    Thanks!

    City lights? Either buy Ecodes or find an older VW with city lights, drill holes in your head light housing that are the right size for the bulbs then wire them up they way you want.
