i have the s-line suspention and i want to get h&R springs but do i really need to change the struts ?

If you want longevity yes, they will fail faster than with the stock springs.

Not immediately, but it will only be a matter of time before they go. If your going to go the springs route get the struts at the same time. But IMO you should just do it right from the start and get a good set of coilovers that will last you the duration of the car.

Get Eibach springs my man. Much stronger than H&R.

But i would save pennies and get a coil-overs so my advice is to get that.

^^^ what he said...there are so many coilovers out there that are so reasonably priced just save a bit more and you could get something better. I use to have springs on my old passat ( bilstein HD struts and h&r race springs) the ride wasn't that great. Thats just my $0.02

replace both of them at the same time. it will save you from poor handling, and you will definitely need to change your struts later if you don't swap them now. so yeah, you might save a few hundred bucks now, but it will save you time and money in the long run. plus, depending on your setup, the handling will be much better.

Yea, what these guys said; don't just get springs, either go for a good spring/shock pairing or a coil-over setup.

Not sure from your spelling of the word "suspenSion" ([xD]) how much you know about it or modding it, but the performance of a spring/shock combo vs. coilovers is pretty comparable. The differences are:

- you have the ability to adjust the ride height/how lowered you are with coilvovers, whereas spring/shock pairings lower the car a fixed amount, and...
- coilovers are generally more expensive than a shock/spring combo, so make sure you REALLY need the ride-height adjustable aspect before you pay a premium for it.

The thing is it takes exactly the same time to install the springs whether you do a strut/CO upgrade or not. All the same stuff has to come out and then put back in. Costs more initially but saves in the long run.

right now im in the process of deciding what to get to. The STaSIS suspension kit or a set of H&R coils. so right know i know what your going through hard decision.

IDK if i would ever do just springs, if your going to do it i would say go straight to coilovers. You wouldn't want to do the same thing more then twice, being dropping the car.

yeah it has come down a little lower over the few days.. i absolutly love it. its hand down the best cosmetic mod you can do to a car.

whenever i go out to drive i still cant help but stair at it for a minute in amazment of how different it looks.. it looks like an actual sports car now. it really was an in incredible transformation.. i still need to get an alignment though, and supposidly i heard that can make it go a tiny bit lower as well

btw, magic are one of the best teams in the nba! 30-8!

LOL, sounds like I'm listening to myself! I do the same thing; every time I'm walking in to the stairwell from my office, I stop and turn around just to take a look at it; it's the first car of mine I've ever done a true mod to, and I vow it will not be the last.

It's not about their record, I just will never have the perception of them being a good team. The same would go for my Warriors, man - if they started out 30-8, they'd still be the shitty old Warriors.

u need to revise that statement to "one of the best regular season teams". its not what u do in the regular season, its what kinda noise u make in the playoffs.

gimme a break here.. being a magic fan is full of turmoil for the most part.. finally we have one of the best players in the nba and are off to a hot start..

but i agree with the playoffs.. we gotta step up big this year to be considered a legit contender for this year and the future

no i dont have the touring package. i just recently installed neuspeed sport springs and blistein shocks. if you click on my name and look for threads that i started you can see some before and after pics and my impressions. i was originally completly stock. PM me if you have any more questions

My suggestion to you is not to go with just springs. I have H & R springs on the stock dampers and find it a little too bouncey, kind of like the stock dampers rebound too much for the stiffer spring.

I'm going to be changing to the Stasis street sport c/o set up in the spring. So basically what I'm saying is don't change your suspension twice like me just do it once properly and don't look back.

Just switched from H&R springs/Bilstein chocks to H&R coilovers and I must say I'm disappointed ;(

H&R springs/Bilstein chocks combo is by far the better ride, especially if you're gono track the car...

H&R coilovers feels more like oem sport setup, and you can't adjust the damping just ride height...

I wish I bought Bilstein PSS9 instead ;( --> just my 0.02

and by the way. i can't wait until sunday. one of the partners at my company is a huge ravens fan, he was rubbing it in my face before the last time they played, so he's being a little more cautious now. but according to him. it's "impossible" for the steelers to beat the ravens twice.


and to keep on topic, i picked up my stasis ss coilovers last week, and i just haven't had time/place to install them. i'll provide an update when i do.
