    A B5 and I

I normally don't do pulls with other cars but I wanted to see how I stacked up against an A4 at a stoplight. It had an exhaust, susp, wheels, and I couldn't see if it was a 1.8T or 2.8. I didn't hear the turbo so I'm assuming it was and 2.8 (I used to have a 1.8TQ B5.. chipped, exhaust, FMIC, lowered, etc.) Anyways, on green, we mashed the gas. I didn't hit the gas very hard and though I had it to the floor, it wasn't a good jump. He stayed a about foot in front of me until he ran out of 1st, then I gained a couple feet and stayed even until he cut throttle at around 50. I was suprised how well he kept up with the 4.2. I know the A6 is a heavy slug but it feels much quicker than my old A4 1.8T which would take a A4 2.8 easily. I probably would have faired better if I got a good jump on him.

    And thats my story.

For some reason, it seems like the 4.2 gets a better jump if you push the throttle little more than half way for the jump, then when you get moving, mash it to the floor.

Don't know why, but I have compared the two many times, and is always the same.
