    Re: 2.8L turbo

You can do what another 2.8 owner did. Swap out the 2.8 for a 1.8t, go BT and stand alone. That will give you a A4 2.8 with a turbo.

and you'll still get walked by a bone stock cobalt ss, srt4, evo, sti.... there's no point. the 2.8 is just not meant to be anything more but a decent daily driver platform.

coming from a 30v 2.8 a while back, i'd have to say that's the best answer to any 2.8 modding question

    Re: 2.8L turbo

i agree too. i had a 2.8 before my 1.8... 1.8 had MUCH more power potential and is MUCH easier and less expensive to work on. 4 of everything, not 6 :)

regardless of your choice, have fun.

There is a guy local to me, kansas city mo, that has a 12v rear mount turbo. I have yet to see the car in person but heard it was pretty sweet. he ended up doing lots of head work to get the head to flow better.

    Re: 2.8L turbo

OP basically its all about the Benjamins. If you have a lot of them / don't care, then anything is possible, hell put a warp drive in there. If not, you're probably better off selling the 2.8 and picking up a 1.8t or a 2.7t. If that doesn't work, perhaps look into swapping in a 1.8t or a 2.7t into your 2.8.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

    Re: 2.8L turbo

If you have to ask this question then you definitely don't have the knowledge to be able to do it. Buy a 1.8T. BernB5 couldn't have said it any better:

there's no point. the 2.8 is just not meant to be anything more but a decent daily driver platform.

    Re: 2.8L turbo

Food for thought, the 2.7 guys use the 2.8 head on big builds.........

NYdriftA4 you you want to turbo it, do it. Build the motor and turbo it.
