Re: help!!!!!!!!!!!truck won't open from the inside

Mine and several others have had this issue of not opening from the external latch and only the map-pocket switch or the key fob can open the trunk. Been like that for about 1.5 + years or so for me - too many other priorities. If its a $200 fix I will consider it do-able.

Re: help!!!!!!!!!!!truck won't open from the inside

I'm not 100% sure this will solve your issue, or if you've already tried this; but have tried turning the key (in the trunk key hole) I believe 180 deg and taking it out?

I've done this several times when I've had my battery disconnected and had to get to the trunk. If the key is turned one direction and removed the only way to open the turnk is with the key or remote. If turned the other direction and removed the inside driver's door button and external latch button at the trunk will work again as well as the remote.

I thought you were locked up in the trunk and needed a way to get out.

I think he's referring to the button on the drivers door. I believe the latch on the inside of the trunk still works unfortunately.

But the way he described it was almost indiscernable.

for you its just the trunk solenoid thing.. going bad. just pull the liner and you will see it.. first try tightening the bolts because they are known to come loose and when they do the trunk won't pop... If that does not work then you need to replace that motor assembly.. i think it is $60 ish .. from the dealer.

Could be the wiring getting pinched in the driver's door. Similar problem happens with the speaker wire harness.
