thinking of adding an ASR exhaust

I don't know if you guys know this company, but they are based in Miami and they do a great job. I got introduced with the company when i went there for my brother's m6, and i must admit, it sounds amazing. The only thing I am afraid of, is that they would have to custom make mine, and it will be the first one they do for an r8, and with all the talk about problems with exhausts on r8 keeps popping into my head!! what do you guys think? thanks

Re: thinking of adding an ASR exhaust

If you are providing the basic R8 test mule for the development of their company's new R8 exhaust system, the least you should expect is a completely free exhaust system and free future service should any problems develop. I suggest that you sit down with the owner/boss of the company and discuss what each person is expecting to receive in the agreement, including such things as each other's access to the car, how much time will be needed for the development, use of fotos, product reviews, etc..Doesn't really need to be a written contract. Just discuss what you want and expect.

Re: thinking of adding an ASR exhaust

Ive never heard of ASR but your taking a big risk adding an exhaust you've never heard before on an r8. It would suck if you didn't like the outcome and im sure its not going to be cheap

id check out the capistro exhaust autobahn exotics sells (www.autobahnexotics.com) I heard an r8 with it not too long ago and it sounded amazingg.

Re: thinking of adding an ASR exhaust

no i know asr, they do great exhausts, like i pointed out in my original post, my brother's m6 sounds incredible. its going to b around 3500-4500, im not afraid of them, I am afraid of how the car will react, bc like i said, i heard that the r8 has had issues with aftermarket exhausts... You guys should check asr videos on youtube and give me feedbacks, bc to me it sounds amazing...
I know that on an m6 it adds around 35 hps, and also about 60 in torque

Hi, I know ASR specializes in M series, Porsche and Benz but haven't heard anything about Audi. We just completed an R8 with a Milltek unit and some other goodies and the finish, fitment and overall quality is great !
    Teaser pic, more to come...

How about Capristo like Sean said? Sounds absolutely ridiculous. And not trying to be debbie downer, but no exhaust will add 35 HP and 60 TQ.

Re: thinking of adding an ASR exhaust

You may be right about that, and maybe i didnt hear him correctly, but i think he said the m6 gains 30 and 60, but like i said i could be wrong... I love capristo, but i think capristo overcharges for its exhaust... if there could be a better price, i could be tempted

Re: thinking of adding an ASR exhaust

    How about free shipping? =)

Honestly, it's worth it. It's a well known company and you get what you pay for. Plus it's rare. I believe only 1 R8 has it and we sold it to him before the Bullrun.

Re: thinking of adding an ASR exhaust

capistros around 5,900 and will probably end up being close to the same price as RSR :)

don't mean to put you down or try to pressure you into anything. this is just the only exhaust ive heard in person on the r8 and I love it. just my opinion :)

Why wouldn't you go with Milltek?
In regards to the wheels, they are fully customized. Center can be colored match, brushed aluminum, carbon fiber. Lip can be also color matched, polished, chromed, carbon fiber and a pin strip can be added any color as well. Inner lip can also be painted... feel free to send me a message with an idea of what you may have in mind and will be more than glad to put a price together for you

dont get me started? it was supposed to be glazing.... but then the noise never went away, so they are putting in new ones, it should have been already done, but if they are not bullshitting me (which i think they are personally) audi sent them new pads for the r8, that supposedly better... but again im not sure

Re: thinking of adding an ASR exhaust

I have the Milltek on my R8 and it sounds perfect, the place where I got it from have the first titanium exhaust coming in by the 2nd week of January which is lighter than the Milltek and obviously costs more.
