It's the new year and that means we have our first Featured AZ'er of 2009. This is also the first time we're featuring an A6. Sure it took us a full year of feature articles to finally get to the A6 model-line, but we feel that the bad-boy you see here will make up for it. The owner, Frank (AKA: FrankA6), may have only owned his Audi for about a year now but he's in it all the way. He's 100% dedicated to the European tuner scene, to the Audizine Community, and he has certainly hooked his car up nicely. This was more than enough to get him noticed, even if he doesn't think so. As you can see by the accompanying photos it's a stunner in both summer and winter mode.
At the time of this article Frank's A6 is currently "winterized", sitting on eighteen inch OEM nine-spokers. In the sunnier months around Pennsylvania it was riding on a set of Raderwerks Mten-80s. Next summer though he's stepping things up another inch and going with nineteens. The right height's been dialed down thanks to a combination of Konis and Eibachs. Again though, he'll be changing things up in the months ahead with a setup by Bilstein and H&R. To get more out of the A6's 2.7 liter engine and its twin turbos, Frank has so far gone with intake parts by AWE and ITG with the exhaust coming from APR. Again, more in store for this summer by means of a GIAC software upgrade.
Frank certainly sounds familiar - an enthusiast that's never quite satisfied and always striving for perfection. Most of us here know that feeling all too well. I know I can definitely relate to an obsession with making my baby unique and keeping her clean, sometimes literally shining it up more than once in a single day. Oh the joys owning a dark color. Nothing looks better when clean than a black or a dark blue, but conversely nothing looks worse when dirty! On that note we wanted to say a thank you to Frank for braving the chilly dampness of PA this time of year. For detailing his fantastic looking A6, and getting us some truly stunning photos. Now that's dedication! More
