Going to have the dealership in Houston, TX fix it.... the dealer in Halifax will not order the central valves and the warranty rep. will not allow the dealer to order them. The warranty rep says that the DRC tool can be used in place of the central valves...

I've also looked at getting one for my S4, but after pricing out the "correct" airbag its looking like a $1300 purchase.

It's the same thickness of the Euro RS4 wheel, but you get to keep your multifunction buttons. And it's flat-bottomed

the two black plugs are the same.... The RS4 airbag has 6 black wires filling slots 1-6. The other airbag has only 3 wires; purple filling slot 1, red filling slot 2, and brown filling slot 3.

I am trying to find the wiring diagram. My only concern is that the wheel being from a newer mainly CAN BUS car is different connector than that of B6/B7

After looking at it late last night, it seems like the extra wires are for the MFC.... I'm going to take a better look at it when I get home today.

Also, will the euro RS4 airbag fit the RS6 wheel? If so, then I'm better off getting the Euro RS4 airbag

I want to say yes it looks like the screw pattern is the same. The euro RS4 is the same as a US A8 airbag same connectors and all

for some reason, I always thought the Euro RS4 airbag was smaller than the R8 airbag....

Honestly your best bet is to see if you can change the cover (black plastic part) off the RS6 airbag onto the RS4 airbag. I would assume it is only clipped/screwed on, but I kinda doubt the attachment points are the same.

I would not even consider messing with the wiring.

Update:

I came across this picture. I moved some of the pins to their appropriate position.... I'm just missing mfc wires #4,5,6 for position 7,10,11.

UPDATE!! Thank you guys for all the help! I finally got it installed and it works PERFECTLY like it was meant to be! I'll try to get some better pics once the weather gets a little better (Wheel looks grey in picture but is actually black!)



So here's what I did: I removed all the pins from both the airbags' harnesses. I swapped the harnesses (US RS4 airbag harness was put on the RS6 airbag). I then relocated 3 wires:

move the Brown wire from 7 >to> 1
move the Yellow wire from 8 >to> 2
move the Red wire from 10 >to> 8

I put the backing on the harness and installed the wheel. I re-connected the battery and tested all functions. The horn works perfectly, all the images on the wheel light up and dim/get brighter when adjusting dimness/brightness, etc. So i guess i'm the first RS4 with an RS6 steering wheel! hehe

I don't know the part # (friend got it for me through dealership!). I pulled on the old knob and it popped off. Getting the new knob was a little harder to install. It just has to be at the right position for it to lock (very tedious!).

For the volume knob, you have to take apart the whole MMI, so I decided not to do so!

yes it does! I loved the girth of the Euro RS4, but couldn't bear to loose my multifunction buttons.... so the RS6 wheel is perfect! and it doesn't have a cheap, plastic bottom to it like the Euro RS4!

I'd be too afraid about the airbag. It seems to me like there's only one way to find out if it was installed properly, and thats a scary thought.

Regardless, I have to say, I'm jealous as hell.

What does the back of the steering wheel look like without the paddles?
