a cam adjuster is like $200 something. its not very hard to replace if your DIY. its just under the valve cover plus a few more bolts. if you have a shop do it they may charge you $400-450 parts+labor.

If you can get it out without pulling at least one of the cams, you should show me how.

Getting enough slack to put the half moon and tensioner gasket in is a breeze. Replacing the tensioner itself takes a min.

air or electric tools definetly help but even with hand tools, its a fairly easy job. you just need the tensioner compressor tool. long needle-nose and/or pick set are nice to have too.

Um the timing belt has to come off along with both cams. Alot of labor, plus cam seals, vlave cover gasket and the tensioner is about 175.00 from ecs. Your looking at about 600 in labor if I had to guess.

false. remove the intake cam and rotate it up to get the adjuster out. it takes like 2 hours to do.

Same thing happened to me. I paid, parts and labor, about $900. That rattling noise was freaky, I thought it was a bent valve or something. It's nice to hear nothing once you get it back though.
