Need an Inspection place to pass tint

My dad's car needs his car to be inspected by Feb. and he has front tinted windows. Anyone know a place that will pass it? Any places in the Fort Lee, Englewood, Leonia, or around that area would be preferred.

Do they even do a visual inspection in NJ? When I got mine inspected they hooked up the ECU to the computer and that was it.

They do. my previous car failed inspection the first time just because of front window tint, and it was only 40% tint too. Now, it's my dads car for inspection and he needs to get it done by feb and he has a darker tint, 25 or 30%.

I was thinking of also tinting my B7, but if I can't seem to find a place to pass it, I might as well not get it or just wait till after my inspection which would be mar 2010.

you're not going to find too many places willing to pass people for tint. NJ is cracking down on the private shops that pass people with tint with big fines and such.

You'll have better luck with Tints than you will with straight pipes or something exhaust related. But the part about NJ coming down hard is very accurate.... sadly

I don't understand paying $150 to pass inspection for tint.

It costs $70-$100 to tint two front windows - and $150 to pass inspection?

I'd rather rip the tint off, pass inspection - then get them re-tinted.

Anyways, good luck finding a place - it's a $20,000 fine or something insane like that to the inspection shop who knowingly passes a car that should fail.

If I were you I would take the tint off, pass inspection, then put the tints back on.

^Btw, i've gotten a few people telling me they can get me stickers. Do you mean you know a shop, or you can just get me a sticker? Is it legit? I've heard a few people getting caught with fake stickers.

I've also heard that if you go to an eye doctor (a crooked one) you can get a doctors note that says you need tinted windows to reduce glare.

Even though that sounds more expensive then just getting them re tinted.

3M Tint lifetime warranty - $60 to tint 2 windows... Take it off if you can't find a place that will do it, and PM me if you want for the $60 to tint.

He is about 35 min south of you..

It's more than a note. It requires the Doctor's License (to practice) number.
