    New Shiftboot

I picked it up from shiftstyle.com; black cf material, black alcantara, and quad silver stitching. No install pics yet because I have a question. Isn't there like a one time use only clip ring on the shiftknob; so won't this cause a problem when I put the new boot on? Anway here's a pic...

    Re: New Shiftboot

I installed a shortshifter last week which required me to take the shift knob and shift boot off. For me, the clip ring was a one time use. I had to mangle the thing to get it off. It can be easily replaced by buying a new clip ring at any hardware store. The one which came with my short shifter had a screw on it so it could be adjusted and used more than once.

    Re: New Shiftboot

How long did it take you to get yours? I ordered one nearly two months ago, and the one that showed up had horribly crooked stitching. Now I'm still waiting for a replacement. How's the stitching on yours?

Mind if I ask how much they ran you? Also, what ended up happening with that clip?

    Re: New Shiftboot

Sandspeed mine took me about two and half weeks to get; stitching there is one bad spot but not bad enough for me to really complain. Arctic; the funny thing with the clip is that I have the JHM SS but I didn't install it; Eurocode did when I had some other stuff getting done; so I have the adjustable screw under there already.

    Re: New Shiftboot

I think the boots are around $35...? There's a solid AZ discount though, something like they'll give you $$ back if you post pics in an online car forum after the install. just ask them...

    Re: New Shiftboot

For half the price, I got one from a guy here in England. It arrived at my door 3 days after I bought it. The stitching was much better than the shiftstyle one, but the individual stitches were longer. The appearance isn't as close to OEM as what shiftstyle is shooting for, but considering that none of it is crooked, it shipped quickly, and the guy actually answers my emails very quickly, I'm quite happy. Here's another great thing: he accidentally sent me a suede boot. After contacting him about that, he immediately sent me the leather one I originally bought, at his cost, and it too arrived within a couple days. Plus I get to keep the suede one as well. So I got two shift boots, within a week, for half the price of the poorly stitched shiftstyle one that took forever to get here. THAT is customer service. I'm really surprised Shiftstyle is still doing business. Shipping is ridiculously slow, quality control seems nonexistent, and it takes several days for them to respond to emails. Am I being a bit picky over $40? Some might think so, but I didn't just throw that money away so I could get a shift boot with very noticeable crooked stitching on two of the seams which took 4 weeks to arrive from a "company" that apparently never reads emails and has no contact number. In any case, I'm just trying to warn other enthusiasts to avoid these guys.

    Re: New Shiftboot

Like I said I think it's hit and miss with these guys; my personal experience with them wasn't bad. When I had a question they emailed me back failry quickly. I'm sorry it's gone the way it did for you.
